Brave Browser is innovating fast and with each comes an update. Brave updates are not always automated so if you want to take advantage of latest features it is important to occasionally check. In this article I will show you a simple way to check if your Brave Browser is fully updated. I will also show the steps to update your browser to the latest version. And lastly but not least talk about the features of the latest upgrade v1.3.111

How do I know if my Brave Browser is up to date?

The best way to know if your Brave Browser is simply by looking at the screen when using the Brave Browser. If your browser is not updated you will see a red circle with a white arrow inside next to the BAT logo located at the tool bar. Click on it and the first think it will tell you is that Your Browser is out of date. To make it simpler here are few images to help you locate the icon.

With an updated Browser, on the toolbar, to the right of the BAT triangular logo we see a 3 line settings icon.

With a Browser that is NOT updated we see a red circle with a white arrow inside. Brave occasionally display a notice next to the icon reminding users to update. In my case I did received this notice which luckily brought the update to my attention.

Once we click in the icon the message is clear that the Brave Browser needs an update to function at its best.

How to get it updated?

In order to be up-to-date you must download and install the latest version. As a token of your support, you can do so by clicking on this referral link. The download and install process is pretty simple. You must click on the download link and start the download. Open the file once it is downloaded and launch the installer. After installation, re-start your device and in few seconds you will be able to open the latest version of Brave. All your bookmarks and wallet balances sync with the older version you already had installed and they will magically show up on your freshly updated Brave Browser.

If you are new to the Brave Browser and want to get started, the referral link also works for new users. In addition the referral also rewards each new user with $5.00 of BAT grant reward to start with.

So what are the latest features of the Brave Browser after the v1.3.111 update?

1. Sponsored Images: According to Brave “These branded images will appear in the form of large, beautiful background images within our new tab page. Sponsored Images will bring additional revenue to support Brave’s mission, and give users a new reason to turn on Brave Rewards so they can get compensated for their attention. These images will begin to appear across our mobile and desktop browsers over the next few months.” That sounds really exciting and I am looking forward to this new way of earning. here are few examples of what they will look like.

2. Brave also released 30 more regions. So now users in Arab Emirates, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Algeria, Egypt, Spain, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Croatia, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Cambodia, Lithuania, Morocco, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Thailand, Turkey, Taiwan, Ukraine, and Vietnam can also take advantage of Brave Rewards.

3. Brave also improved on user experience by adding tools, fixing errors and even adding orthography or more flair in order to make the browser more dynamic.

It is truly amazing to see how fast Brave Browser and the BAT Rewards program are evolving and spreading around the world. The fast updates are a good sign that there are a lot more exciting things to come. Let’s seat, browse and enjoy the BAT rewards!
